Danette R. Ocegueda, RDH, MS

Danette received her Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene from Old Dominion University, her Master of Science in Dental Hygiene Education for the University of Missouri-Kansas City and is certified in Forensic Dentistry. In addition to over twenty-four years of clinical experience, Danette’s career also includes experience in academia, where she has taught dental hygiene courses for the last nine years as an adjunct professor. Danette is a member of the California Dental Hygiene Educators’ Association, the American Dental Hygienists’ Association and the California Dental Hygienists’ Association, serving as the Student Relations Council Co-chair. She and her husband Tony are parents to three daughters and reside in Woodland, California. Danette is actively involved in her community and church. She enjoys camping, hiking, horseback riding, and watching her daughter’s sporting events.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

  • Identify current optimal care practices and expand upon opportunities
  • Review medical emergency protocols
  • Distinguish between inter-office communication and intra-office communication
  • Learn to apply new protocols for: collaboration, referrals, guidelines, and documentation
  • Implement suggestions for seamless communication that will enrich your team environment
  • Identify prospective inter-disciplinary opportunities

“In Pursuit of Health: Care to Take the Journey”

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

  • Incorporate oral pathology screenings/exams at every recare visit
  • Customize a treatment plan based on the patient’s individual level of caries risk
  • Exemplify a pathway to wellness with education about the inflammatory process
  • Implement resources and tools for routine comprehensive patient screenings
