This presentation fulfills 2 CE’s of the state requirement for Implicit Bias training for those renewing in 2022

  • Share examples of allyship behaviors and anti-racism pedagogies and practices taking place at the University of Michigan

A change to the Michigan Public Health Code requires all registered dental professionals (dentists, registered dental hygienists, and registered dental assistants) to take three hours of implicit bias training. The implicit bias training requirement applies to all license renewals after June 1, 2022.

The Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, in conjunction with the Michigan Board of Dentistry, has these rules for fulfilling the requirement

  • Three hours every licensing period for registered dental professionals.
  • In-person training or live webinar only. (No pre-recorded or on-demand courses allowed.)
  • Training must be from one of the following approved providers of continuing education: American Dental Association CERP, and AGD/PACE Programs.
