Elizabeth Pitts, RDH, MS originates from Detroit, MI and currently resides in Southfield, MI with her husband, son, and step-daughters. Elizabeth’s extensive dental career spans public, private, and research sectors.

Elizabeth’s passion for community dentistry and increasing minority representation within the dental field is evident in her academic achievements, volunteerism, and participation in a variety of professional organizations.

Elizabeth received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Howard University. She continued her education at the University of Michigan where she received a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Dental Hygiene.


Elizabeth currently serves as a Clinical Research Coordinator and Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. She is also an Adjunct Clinical Instructor at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry.

Her professional memberships include Sigma Phi Alpha-Nu Chapter, the American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA), the National Dental Hygienists’ Association (NDHA), the American Academy of Public Health Dentistry (AAPHD), and the American Dental Education Association (ADEA).
